GUIDELINES FOR CUSTOM ILLUSTRATIONS
I care deeply about ensuring that you, as a customer, receive an artwork you’re proud to display on your wall. That’s why it’s important that you read through these guidelines before confirming your order.

IMPORTANT
You will receive a screenshot of the drawing once it is finished. While I appreciate feedback, please note that I do not offer revisions to the artwork beyond small color adjustments (such as hair or eye color).
I create illustrations for customers who value my artistic expression and style. It’s important to me to preserve the overall composition and expression of the piece, without extensive changes.

By placing an order, you agree to purchase a unique piece of art created with my personal interpretation and creative freedom.

My drawings are based on reference photos, but they are not intended to be exact photographic copies. The final result may not be 100% identical to the person in the photo, as the artwork is my interpretation of the image.

What’s included?
-
A physical print of your custom artwork, signed and numbered.

What to keep in mind:
-
If you'd like more than one copy, please let me know in advance. Numbered prints cannot be reproduced later.

Stay Available by Email
If your order has a specific delivery deadline, please be available via email to confirm your print. If I cannot reach you, I reserve the right to send the artwork without final approval.

Right of Withdrawal & Cancellations
All orders are binding. Custom-made items are, by law, exempt from the right of withdrawal. However, I do allow cancellations under certain conditions:
-
If your order has not yet been started, you may cancel it with a cancellation fee of NOK 350.
-
If your order has been started, 50% of the agreed price will be charged.
-
If the illustration is finished, the full amount is due.

Even if the delivery date is far in the future, I may begin working on your order earlier depending on my workload.
If you have already paid for shipping, this will be refunded or deducted from any applicable cancellation fee.
Printing & Paper
-
I print in-house up to A3 size.
-
Larger formats are printed by a professional print studio.
-

All custom portraits are printed on 210 gsm matte, acid-free, ultra-smooth 100% cotton fine art paper, whether printed in-house or externally. This paper is ideal for digital prints and delivers excellent detail and color quality.

Shipping
-
A3 and larger prints are shipped in cardboard tubes or flat-packed if multiple prints.
-
Smaller prints are shipped in sturdy cardboard envelopes.
-
Shipping costs: NOK 89 for up to one A3 print, NOK 150 for larger prints or flat-packed A3.
-
All shipments include tracking and are sent as "Norgespakke".

If your print is damaged during shipping, I will send a replacement once you provide a photo of the damaged item.

I cannot be held responsible for postal delays when the artwork has been shipped on time. If your package is lost, I’ll ask whether you prefer to wait or receive a new print. If you choose the latter, I’ll issue a "stop shipment" request so the original can be returned to me if found.

Marketing & Artist’s Rights
Although I retain the copyright to the artwork and may wish to showcase my work, I understand that most customers prefer privacy. Therefore, I will not use your custom illustration in marketing unless we have agreed on this in advance.

Copyright
Aside from the rights granted by law (such as private use), the customer is allowed to share the artwork on their private social media profile. Minor alterations like cropping are permitted for this purpose.
All other rights to reproduction or public use—whether altered or not—remain with the artist. This includes social media use connected to businesses or organizations.
The artist may grant extended rights through a separate written agreement and additional compensation.
The customer guarantees that they hold the necessary rights to the reference images provided. The artist shall not be held liable for third-party claims resulting from unauthorized use of images.

Unexpected Events & Delays
I am just one person creating these drawings, and sometimes unexpected events occur—such as illness, technical issues, or delays at the print studio. My top priority is to complete your artwork by the agreed deadline, but in rare cases of delays, you will be notified as soon as possible.
This clause only applies to exceptional circumstances—artwork is almost always delivered on time.

Art Tax (Kunstavgift)
For artwork priced over NOK 2,000, a 5% Norwegian art tax will be added to the total.

Invoice & Payment
Unless otherwise agreed, you’ll receive an invoice shortly before I begin working on your drawing. The due date is either 7 or 14 days, depending on the urgency.
For larger commissions, I usually require a 50% deposit before starting. The remaining balance is invoiced once I begin your order.

Unpaid invoices will be followed up with a reminder and then sent to the debt collection agency Kravia if necessary.
